Dimension: The embrace - Theme: Grounding technique

The grounding technique is very useful to create a lot of steps, including barridas and planeos. Basically it is a technique used to stop the follower at a particular point in her transfer of axis. We used this step today in a pretty planeo, a 360-degree turn and a barrida. Variety is the spice of life!

Dimension: The embrace - Theme: Lifting technique

Lifting is a great technique to have the follower move their free leg, for example to go over in a pasada or a parada step. We can also use this technique in the cross to create cross/uncross effects or rebounds in and out of the cross. Very unique, yet very salon.

Dimension: The embrace - Theme: Mixed energy in open embrace

In this class, we started with an americana position and developed a couple of versions leading us to a giro with a fancy back enrosque. The sky is the limit! :-)

Dimension: The embrace - Theme: Mixed energy in close embrace

In this class, we focused on how to lead and follow rebounds in close embrace, first on the half beat and then a slow rebound that is very suitable for soft melodic tangos. We also looked at more complex combinations using a rebound and the very useful grounding technique.
