This week marks the end of our Academic Term focusing on the Tango Dimension Energy and Ricardo Malberba's orchestra. Time to review what you've learned!
Dimension: Energy - Theme: Review
In this class, we aimed at getting as many different energies as possible, so we played with soft cortes contrasted with quick pasadas and a sharp back cross contrasted with a soft leader's giro. A great way to close this term!
Dimension: Energy - Theme: Back boleos
Back boleos are a great way to add energy to a dance. They are a whip-like movement using a change of energy, normally from backward ocho to forward ocho. In this class, we saw some simple versions of boleos for beginners and then upped the tempo with a boleo on the floor and a lifted boleo for intermediates & up.
Dimension: Energy - Theme: Soft giros with enrosque & lapiz
In this class, we played with soft, romantic giros, as a contrast with last week's high energy giro with sacada.
Dimension: Energy - Theme: High impact giros with sacadas & boleos
In this class, we built up a bit of tension and drama by playing with low and high sacadas, and a back / forward boleo combination.
