Dimension: Directions - Theme: Changes of lane
In this first class of our new term, we explored how to change lanes, which often involves dissociation and the use of forward, side and back steps. In the beginner class, we started with simple yet musical combinations and in the intermediate + class, looked at an enrosque and a beautiful sequence by the milonguero Portalea.
This week marks the end of our Academic Term focusing on the Tango Dimension Height and Carlos Di Sarli. Time to review what you've learned!
Dimension: Height - Theme: Changes of height and crosses
Changes of height can lead to very interesting variations on the cross: cross / uncross combinations, which we are very fond of. We started the class with a few simple steps looking at the concept of lifting the embrace and then looked at applying this to the cross.
Dimension: Height - Theme: Going up
In this class, we looked at differences of height and speed, and how to go up and quick or low and slow with fun and playful steps.
Dimension: Height - Theme: Milonguero dip
This is our first class on our new dimension height. For this class, we played with steps where both partners go down together, including a step we call the dramatic step and another one commonly called the milonguero dip. Very dramatic and romantic.
