Open or closed (eyes)?
It's quite usual for us ladies to close our eyes when dancing. It might sound (and feel) scary at first, but it increases the connexion with our partner and helps establish a better dialogue...

Dimension: The embrace - Theme: Flat giros
In this class, we looked at how we can use dissociation to lead the difference between a side step, a forward ocho and a backward ocho. It might sound obvious, but it's not! We then applied this technique to really cool steps such as the flat giro, the change of front and the change of weight.

Dimension: The embrace - Theme: Activating the right size of the embrace
It is very common to focus mainly on the open side of the embrace and completely forget the closed side. Both sides are equally important however and serve a different purpose, carrying different messages In this class, we focused on the closed side of the embrace and a really nice giro to the leader's right side.

Dimension: The embrace - Theme: open and close embrace.
In this class, we saw how to build a comfortable embrace and how to transition from an open to a close embrace. We then applied this concept to the sandwich, the fun mordidas and the cross, a step which is often used to smoothly move from close to open embrace.

Asynchronicity is when both partners are stepping at different times, let's say one on the beat and the other on the half beat. These is great to add some energy and a certain element of surprise to your dancing.

Varying the size of steps is an important part of your dancing as it gives you the flexibility to better interpret the music. In this class, we worked on half beat giros and on different size and speed of pivots and steps in the giro.
