Dimension: Height - Theme: Milonguero dip

This is our first class on our new dimension height. For this class, we played with steps where both partners go down together, including a step we call the dramatic step and another one commonly called the milonguero dip. Very dramatic and romantic.

Dimension: Energy - Theme: Review

In this class, we aimed at getting as many different energies as possible, so we played with soft cortes contrasted with quick pasadas and a sharp back cross contrasted with a soft leader's giro. A great way to close this term!

Dimension: Energy - Theme: Back boleos

Back boleos are a great way to add energy to a dance. They are a whip-like movement using a change of energy, normally from backward ocho to forward ocho. In this class, we saw some simple versions of boleos for beginners and then upped the tempo with a boleo on the floor and a lifted boleo for intermediates & up.

Dimension: Energy - Theme: Romantic planeos

Planeos can really bring a bit of romance in any slow, dramatic tangos. Think Di Sarli, Malberba, Fresedo, Calo, certain slow Canaro like Poema. In this class, we saw a couple of simple versions and then built up to more complex planeos with advanced adornments.

Dimension: Energy - Theme: Changes of energy using the cross

The cross - such a classic step, the Argentinian call it the resolution step. To bring life and excitement back into the cross, we looked at how we could play with the energy (slower, faster) and use the cross to enter beautiful giros.
