We will cover in depth variations around the Giro/contra-giro, possible enrosques for him and her, precise technique in couple, working with speed, creating centrifugal or centripetal force inside the embrace and more.     Tango is the Improvisation dance par excellence. Both leaders and followers, whilst relying on each other and the music, are in constant state of pure creation, drawing from their own personality and ideas how to move and interpret the song. It might sound like a daunting task, but luckily we have developed tools for you, to enrich and develop this improvisation, and make your dance richer.   • 07/10/2020 Special PATADAS (kicks) edition part I, 90 min.
    Today we will kick some serious fun into tango with the mighty PATADAS (kicks)! Front, back, low, high, in and out, planned or unexpected: they come with different colours and with a bit of technique you will be able to master them and make them part of your dancing. Wednesday is part I of II (best enjoyed together but each part can be taken independently).

  • Barridas (sometimes called Arrastres) are the true tango gem: a delicate foot contact - some may call it a gentle foot 'kiss and sweep' - that is without doubt a tango symbol. Learn how to prepare for a stable and safe barrida, how to lead it and respond to the lead, incorporate it in the music, and create your own. This is part I of II, best enjoyed together but can be taken independently.
  • 09/09 DO YOU HAVE CADENCIA? (part I). Having great rhythm, a fabulous musicality, being in tune with your partner and the song... All these can define cadencia. Cadencia in tango is without doubt what makes a great dancer and you can spot these on the floor straight away: rather than complex sequences that rarely fit the music, they prefer playful movement in complete sync with the music - something that will bring a big smile on their partner, every time. Part I of II (last of series on Sunday), but can both lessons can be taken independently.

  • 09/12/2020 Cambio de frente (change of front) beautiful variations, part I, 90 min. Cambio de frente (change of front) refer to these moments when the follower shifts in embrace, and suddenly faces a different direction. They are beautiful moments of subtle connection changes and open a wide range of new possibilities. Add these Cambios in your repertoire, and embrace new sensations in your dance.     This week, learn all the secrets behind these feet and legs interactions, from patadas to tocadas (their softer version). Understand the dynamics behind these two fun movements, uncover the tips to keep your balance when using them, and apprehend when to use them - to make them part of your interpretation.   • 10/02 Interpreting SLOW tangos, secrets and technique, Part I, 90 min.

    Most are surprised, when they start tango, how slow some tango songs can get. These moments of stillness, of change of pace, and intricate game between melody and counterpoints are places of sheer beauty, calling the dancers to reveal themselves in the tiniest, or slowest, of movement. It feels at first that dancing on a slow song would be easier, but it is soon evident that they require even more control, and communication in the couple.   • 10/03 Secrets of Elegance & Control, Part I, 90 min.

    LIVE. How can dancers improve the quality of their movement, and increase the control and fluidity of their trajectory as a couple? We will show exercises and delve into the secrets of a controlled movement, a more graceful transfer, and put it to practice with sequences. In this special GANCHO workshops we will explore the art behind them, how to maintain balance and communication and have fun with different gancho dynamics, for him and her. The Int/Adv. workshop will include new combinations that will delight everyone who loves tango. We will also give exercises to solo dancers to perfect their ganchos.
