Here you’ll as much information about tango music, tango orchestras as we could get our hands on. There are also a few biographies of some of the major tango artists from the Golden Age. And, last but not least: full tandas that we have sometimes played at los Angelitos. This section is like a treasure hunt, go on digging, go on clicking, you’ll always end up on a nice bit of music or information (we think!).
From the Guarda Vieja to the Orquesta Típica
The first generation of tango players, called the "Guardia Vieja" (the Old Guard), were recent immigrants. By mixing their own culture and heritage, they participated in creating tango, a new music genre blending European, African and salon music.
Tandas we ❤ – Angel D’Agostino (Vals)
This week, selection of valses from the two "angels", Ángel D'Agostino and Ángel Vargas.
Tandas we ❤ – Lucio Demare
Here's a new tanda we love. Expect some humming or little twitches from your foot - better not fight it.
Tandas we ❤ – Lucio Demare (Tango)
Today, a tango tanda by Lucio Demare; featuring Solamente ella, which he composed.
Tandas we ❤ – Pugliese (Tango)
This week is a special treat - with Pugliese songs bringing so much drama to the dancefloor, they are often chosen for performances, so we've selected quite a few by world-class artists, including Lorena Ermocida.
Tandas we ❤ – Anibal Troilo (tango)
We regularly publish tandas to get you inspired in between classes and milongas. Today, a tango tanda by Anibal Troilo.
