Class notes & summary video from our 13/05 group classes. Theme: Planeos.

Planeos are a beautiful, airy series of steps where the leader walks around the follower, whilst she pivots on one leg. They make it look like time suspended its course. Great for soft melodic tangos.

Class notes & summary video from our 29/04 group classes. Theme: Variations around sanguchitos and crosses.

The sanguchito (sandwich) is a step where partners sandwich one another's foot with their own feet. Whilst not suitable as a nibble, the tango sandwich is a lovely step and a great classic on the dancefloor too. For intermediates, we mixed it with front and back crosses for creative variations that are suitable for the dancefloor.

Class notes & summary video from our 22/04 group classes. Theme: Boleos.

Boleos are whip-like moves that result from an interruption of energy in the lead. In this class, we saw a simple variation of boleos on the floor for beginners and then a more energetic series of front and back boleos for intermediates. Put some energy in your dancing (when the dancefloor is clear!)

Class notes & summary video from our 15/04 group classes. Theme: Ganchos.

Although ganchos are now widely used in milongas, they were originally risqué stage tango moves. They're very common on Strictly and as a result are what comes to non-dancers' minds when they think of tango. In this class, we saw a couple of basic and more advanced ganchos, for you to pepper your dance with some of these little bursts of energy.
