Giraldo’s style is often described as being pure “Villa Urquiza”, from the name of a famous borough of Buenos Aires where some of the best dancers have trained and originated. This style is a smooth, elegant dancing style, which a lot of people more commonly call “tango salón. Giraldo is particularly well known for his cadencia.

We particularly like how Giraldo uses the follower’s back crosses on both legs – which is a bit unusual and also how he uses this step to mark the end of musical phrases. The step we that particularly caught our attention is a mix of back ochos and back crosses, hence a travel in time and a mixture of styles, the back cross being the ancestor of the back ochos before pivots were introduced in tango.
