We are collaborating with leading London tango schools and musicians to bring you the most exciting anniversary ever! Prepare for a beautiful afternoon of tango.
We have invited for their UK debut, the orchestra Arrebato tango, straight from Argentina. Joining them is the vertuoso, award winning and harmonica world championships finalist Joe Powers, to play live during the milonga. With his harmonica and back tracks, Joe creates a truly extraordinary experience, at the same time exhilarating and intimate – playing the most danceable tangos only. Plus, the milonga has been super-extended for the occasion, with Guest DJ Rene Hellemons and the latest creations of Yuyo Brujo (shoes) and Libretad Atelier (clothes).

Due to venue availability, we need to start the Beginner class at 2.30pm instead of 2pm.
» 2.30PM BEGINNER & IMPROVER CLASS (1 hour): the cross & fabulous variations. Discover the famous ‘cruce’ and how to lead it (with Cate & Shashi). Note that today there will be an overlap of 30′ of the two classes due to venue prior bookings.
» 3PM SPECIAL WORKSHOP (1.5 hours): front, back cross & off-axis advanced variations using Colgada elements. Fun and unmissable! (with Paula Duarte and Bruno V Abeele)
» 4.30PM EXTENDED MILONGA until 8.30PM, with the live music of tango orchestra Arrebato and Harmonica superstar Joe Powers, plus a TDJ that will make you dance non stop! Bar and food available until the evening, plus shoes and clothes collection.

Arrebato Tango is an emerging Tango musical group from Buenos Aires, Argentina. It fuses the classic with the modern, creating an original and passionate proposal that captivates tango lovers. The group has conquered stages in several countries, bringing their passion for music and tango to an ever-widening audience. Their performances are a celebration of culture and a tribute to the musical heritage of tango.

An award winning musician brings a unique atmosphere to our milonga!
Award-winning Harmonica Virtuoso Joe Powers is known for bending and blending genres from Jazz to Classical, Blues to World Music, and Argentine Tango. He has been a global talent for over 20 years, performing more than 1000 concerts in North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He won a Belgian Crystal Harmonica Award and took fourth place at the World Harmonica Championship in Germany. He is a harmonica ambassador at masterclasses and events around the world.
Powers has collaborated with Narcotango, Tanghetto, Otros Aires, UK’s “Tango Siempre”, Japan’s “Aurora”, Pink Martini, Jamie Cullum, J.J. Milteau, the Ichikawa Symphony Orchestra in Japan etc.
In 2012 his Tango quintet was featured with sold-out performances at one of North America’s top Classical music series, the Oregon Bach Festival. In 2013 he guest-starred with the Vancouver Symphony orchestra kicking off their 35th season with double performances of the Gordon Jacob Harmonica Suite.
2015 saw the release of Joe’s album with Pianist Naoko Aoki entitled, “Jacaranda en flor” and his album, “Apasionado” which was recorded in Buenos Aires with some of Argentina’s top Tango musicians. The album featuring six of Joe’s original compositions as well as six Tango classics.
In 2018 Joe made an 18 country world tour, including performances at the 20th annual International Congress of Argentine Tango (CITA) in Buenos Aires, and in Brazil for the first annual São Paulo Tango Festival. His 2022 album, “Con Ojos Nuevos” was recorded in Madrid with pianist Guglielmo Foffani. The album features three original pieces from each artist and three famous masterpieces.
On his 2023 Europe tour Joe appeared at Tango festivals in Brittany, France, Bayonne, France and at the Gryf Tango Weekend in Szczecin, Poland.
