Sunday with Noelia Argumedo (Arg.) and a FREE sword fighting class and demo!
This Sunday we will step up the fight! We will have the exclusive visit for a free class of SWORDPUNCH, Jack’s sword fighting club, who will show you how sword fighting relates to tango – and he even will let you try the swords in couples, before making a full fledged demonstration! We will also welcome back our lovely teacher from Argentina, Noelia Argumedo teaching HOW TO USE LEVELS in tango with Bruno, and TDJ Bruno.
Don’t miss this first ever experience where Tango and Sword fighting, which seem worlds apart at first, will blow your mind when they connect. And a full milonga to dance it off ;-). What a Sunday!
No booking and no partner is needed for group classes. Schedule this Sunday:
- 2PM Beginners class (Level 1, 1 hour): MEDIA LUNA VARIATIONS. Discover tango and be swept away by this beautiful dance! Learn how to lead the famous media luna and what you can do with it. For further classes check our Beginners page for our beginner curriculum & offers.
- 2PM Improvers class (Level 2, 1 hour): PLAYING WITH THE MEDIA LUNA & RHYTHM. Learn what you can do to play with the music, and how to use media lunas in different configurations. Exciting!
- 3PM WORKSHOP WITH NOELIA & BRUNO (1.5 hours): USING LEVELS IN TANGO: GROUNDING AND LIFTING. Delve into the secrets of professionals to understand how to use levels, going up and down without looking like a rabbit! Including applications with different speeds and embraces. One of the most useful tools we have in tango!
- Classes at 2pm with Cate and Will & Esra for Beginners, and Noelia and Bruno for Improvers (2pm) and Intermediates (3pm)
- 4.30 – 5PM FREE SOWRD FIGHTING CLASS, with Jack Parkinson, HEMA instructor and Co-founder of Swordpunch London
- 5PM MILONGA Los Angelitos, often described as the friendliest in London. TDJ Bruno and last tanda at 8PM. Free wine and cakes.

Our approach to teaching
We teach with an original technique using modern tools to produce happy, shiny, dancy people. Our group and private lessons are fun, relaxed and structured to make you progress quickly, regardless of your previous dance experience. Ultimately, we want you to become great to watch, and even greater to dance with.
We focus on helping you build your own sequences of steps, so that you learn to dance to the music and develop your tango ‘self’ inside out:
- Self awareness: couple dancing starts with both partners having a good awareness of their own body positioning. In class, we will solidify your tango technique, including posture and walking.
- Connection: dancing tango is like having a wordless conversation with your partner. In our intermediate classes, we delve into different embraces and various energies and concepts to establish an efficient and smooth communication with your partner through the art of leading & following.
- Expression: in class, we study different techniques and energies and help you link steps up together yourself to create your own choreographies. We also hold regular “musicality” classes, where we look at various ways of interpreting the music and varying rhythms. You will soon feel that you are able to “play” with the music. We don’t believe in teaching routines and will instead help you develop your tango creativity.
- Authenticity: we simply love tango music and history and have been told our passion is contagious. In all our classes, we introduce a new orchestra every 2 months so that you get you used to different rhythms. We also translate songs – it is always a bonus to dance on a song when you understand whether to laugh or to cry. We also give tips about how to best enjoy milongas, these atmospheric tango parties where everything comes together like magic.
- Space management: We’ll work on developing your spacial awareness to help you dance in tune with the room and easily manage the line of dance. That’s the best way to make you “milonga-ready”!
About your Swordfighting class
This is exciting! Today we will delve into the noble art of swordfighting, exploring the elegance of moving both when you dance… and fight. As for every good dancer should be a good fencer! We will uncover one hand sword styles based on historical manuals from past centuries – you will know how it connect to dancing while doing it.
