Steps we like! :-)
For the last class of the year, we just wanted to have fun, so we decided to go over some of the steps we really like. Funny enough, you'll see that a few of them involve the follower going forward for a change!
In the old days, ladies learnt to dance in private and at home, usually by their fathers, brothers or uncles, but some were taught by mothers, sisters or aunts.
Dimension: Size - Theme: Asynchronicity
Asynchronicity is when both partners are stepping at different times, let's say one on the beat and the other on the half beat. These is great to add some energy and a certain element of surprise to your dancing.
Tango dimension: Size - Theme: Half beat giro
Varying the size of steps is an important part of your dancing as it gives you the flexibility to better interpret the music. In this class, we worked on half beat giros and on different size and speed of pivots and steps in the giro.
This week marks the end of our second Academic Term focusing on the Tango Dimension Interactions and on Donato's orchestra. Time to review what you've learned!
