The only accepted way to overtake a couple on the dance floor seems to be on the left: while the gentleman who is about to get overtaken should have full visibility on this side, on his right, his sight might be partially obstructed by his partner’s face!
Unless she’s tiny tiny because tiny girls don’t obstruct the sight of any of their partners, no matter how hard they try! ;-)
