Every week, you’ll find on our blog class notes and a summary video from our Wednesday and Sunday tango group classes.
These video and notes are meant to help our students remember what they’ve done in class.
In this class, we had a look at how rebounds make us change directions. We did a simple rebound and change of weight combination for beginners and for intermediates looked at more advanced versions where the leader and the follower move independently from one another, including a very original step where the rebound leads to a pasada.

Top tips
Beginners & improvers: Rebound and change of weight
- Leaders: For the rebound, make sure your first step is short so that you can then step forward into a normal sized step. Do not try to do the rebound and the step at the same size, it is very difficult to lead and follow.
- Followers: Keep your feet nicely together when changing weight.
Homework
- All: Practice changes of weight, single rebounds and double rebounds on your own until you are satisfied with the feel and the aesthetics of them.
