Season: The embrace - Theme: Steps in Americana
This class is the first of a series providing in-depth insights about the dynamics of the embrace. We focused on the americana, this embrace where both partners face the same direction. It is a lovely step which adds a bit of fresh air to your dancing.
Theme: Dancefloor-friendly rhythmical steps.
In this class, we saw a couple of very simple and versatile rhythmical steps that are ideal for orchestras like D'Arienzo or Rodriguez or to pick up on rhythm change in any tango song. We saw steps based on changes of weight. Very milonguero.
Theme: Sudden changes of direction.
When the music changes, it's quite nice to be able to reflect this in your dancing. One way to do this is to change directions. In this class, we've seen a couple of 180-degree turns, some quite simple for beginners and other a bit more advanced from the Americana position. Elegant and sophisticated, a must in your repertoire of tango steps.
